Hindsight
Draw what happened next. A daily crypto history game.
Play today's puzzle Past days
How to play
- You see a real crypto price chart, cut off right before a famous moment. No coin name, no date.
- Drag your finger across the shaded area to draw where you think the price went over the next 7 days.
- Lock it in. The real candles appear day by day.
- Read what happened and why, then play the next round. Three rounds a day; a new set every day at midnight US Eastern time (13:00 in Japan in summer, 14:00 in winter).
Share your card to challenge friends. The card never shows the answers, so they can still play.
Scoring
Each round is out of 100:
- 40 for the shape of your line through the week,
- 40 for where it ended on day 7,
- 20 for calling the direction (up or down).
Errors are judged relative to how big the real move was, so a 10% week and a 70% week are equally fair. 🟩 is 70+, 🟨 is 40+.
The "20x" line
For fun, each round also shows what your call would have made with one 20x leveraged trade held for the week. It's hypothetical, based on past data, with no liquidation. There's no money, no betting and no prizes in Hindsight, and nothing here is financial advice.
Privacy
- No accounts, no sign-up, no cookies set by Hindsight.
- Your browser keeps your history on your device only: the date you first played, the days you've played, and your scores for each day for the past days page (
hindsight.history and hindsight.results in local storage). Clearing site data removes it.
- We count anonymous game events (for example "finished a day", "shared", which round was reached), with coarse buckets like "played 2–3 days" and never a user ID or personal data. Page views are counted without cookies. If your browser sends Do Not Track, we don't count events.
- Share images and videos are made on your device. We don't upload them; sharing goes through your phone's share sheet or X itself.
- Challenge links contain only the day, a score and a percentage.
Data and sources
Prices are daily candles from public exchange market data. Every event card links to its source (news reports, Wikipedia and others). Spotted a mistake? Tell us below.
